A foray into this market in the middle of Palma is certainly worth it. Don’t miss the Xacuteria Creus Stand; there’s no better place to choose from 6 different kinds of Bellota, ham made from pigs raised exclusively on a diet of acorns. Just across the way you will the best cheeses and select cold cuts and sausages made by small, independent producers. When you’re surrounded by Spaniards you know you’re at the right place, so try to get a stool at Peixoa Juan and some of their delicious fish tapas. If you do, you have to try the fried sardines and anchovies marinated in garlic, oil and vinegar.
