The beautiful neighbourhood market, il Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio, is much more relaxed than its big brother the Mercato Centrale. The cafés and restaurants of this district are frequented mostly by locals who seem to know each other well. Outside the hall vendors sell fruit and vegetables, while inside you will find meat, fish and dairy products, plus a friendly place to lunch on fresh market fare.
