The Chagall museum is located half way from the historic center to Cimiez quarter on a hill. It is a modern building housing 17 large oil paintings and many sketches by the great painter who lived and worked at the Côte d’Azur. The oil paintings inspired by biblical scenes were originally painted for a chapel in Venice and luckily came to Nice by influence of André Malraux.
