The royal art collection is housed in three locations and a full day is barely enough to see all the masterworks housed in the Old Wing, on the Place Royal and in a new underground building. Among the collections most prized possessions: fantastic works by Flemish master Rogier van der Weyden, monumental works by Rubens, an impressive Breughel collection, van Dyck portraits, paintings by Watteau and Ingres, by the symbolists James Esnor and Edward Burne-Jones, an excellent sculpture garden, and the museum itself including the royal staircase as well as the Art Nouveau stairway at the Palais Gresham.
