If you are interested in history and archaeology, we recommend a detour to Egnazia, the Greek Gnathia. When visiting the site, you first come to the museum, which offers a well-structured exhibition on the excavations and the history of the Messapier and Peuketier. However, the information is only available in Italian, but most of the sketches and exhibits are self-explanatory – and above all impressively beautiful, such as the mosaic of the Three Graces from the 3rd century.
