Granted: In Wannsee, between Berlin’s centre and Potsdam, there is not much going on. There it is green, quiet and the big lake. And there’s Mother Fourage – a cultural location consisting of a gallery, an event barn, a courtyard café, a delicatessen, a picture frame studio and a nursery. It is idyllic here on this paved property, as one is used to from this district. You can spend an afternoon there: Coffee, cake and the year-round changing exhibition of painting, sculpture or photography in the listed barn. The former Fourage – i.e. food store, founded around 1900, has meanwhile found a firm place in the cultural landscape.
