Onette is wonderfully different from what we are used to seeing in Berlin. Large windows, flooded with light, with white crochet curtains. The interior is deliberately reminiscent of a simple diner from the 1960s. Tamara and Brie, who met once in London over lunch at BAO, opened the corner restaurant in June 2025. What began as a coincidence turned into friendship and a place that Berlin had been missing. The cuisine is American with German influences. The trout sandwich with bread from Keit Bakery is legendary, as are the fried square potato sticks, which are almost always sold out. Pie and semolina pudding for dessert are just a few examples from the consistent menu. Filter coffee is served, of course, in diner style. Onette feels as if it has always been there, new and already a classic – and that is precisely what makes it so appealing.
