When you open a restaurant diagonally opposite the Slow Food editorial office, it’s a statement in itself – the big red snail in the backyard of the Osteria continues the path that is consistently followed here: high-quality food according to Slow Food standards, i.e. components that are produced according to traditional craftsmanship, without industrially produced and standardized components – and also regionally and seasonally. The pasta is therefore of course made by the customer himself and convinces at first sight – rich yellow, thanks to the eggs! With the primi piatti you must definitely try the typical Piedmont tajarin with butter and sage. Here you can taste directly that you don’t have to be fancy with the appropriate ingredients, but can only convince with outstanding quality. The secondi, like hare or duck legs, are prepared in exactly the same way – quality without much bells and whistles.
The inner courtyard is very cosy, all around there is an arcade corridor, which is illuminated in the evening and thus bathes the outside area in soft light. The atmosphere is very familiar and cosy and at noon there is a sworn community of locals who know that they are simply offered good food here. If you want to come by, you should book in advance.
