Hidden in the maze of alleys and relatively unimpressive from the outside, the Osteria delle Travi spoils you with pure, unadulterated Apulian specialities. But open your eyes, the small vaulted restaurant can easily be overlooked. The restaurant has been run by the de Mastro family for three generations and is an absolute favourite of the locals. Anyone who sits down at one of the wooden tables with paper tablecloths in a rustic atmosphere sits in company with Italians. Usually, the best restaurants have the smallest selection. This is also the case here, but the homemade orecchiette with fresh fish and vegetables is unrivalled, and has been since 1813! The fact that the prices are also extremely friendly is the icing on the cake! The only drop of melancholy – unfortunately you can only sit inside.
