Pageou – that is the name of the village in eastern Anatolia where Ali Güngörmüş spent the first ten years of his life, and which no longer stands like this: six mud huts surrounded by goats, donkeys and chickens, no running water, oil lamps instead of electricity. But his mother’s lamb dishes or the bread baked on the floor by his grandmother remain in Ali Güngörmüş’s mind – and so a breath of the soul of the former Pageous in the Munich restaurant of the same name in the Fünf Höfen wafts around. Ali conjures up the best from simple, good products, this is his credo. Of course, the menu is inspired by his oriental and Mediterranean roots. Don’t miss the Turkish wines either. And quite apart from the food, the atmosphere at Pageou is also a dream: tasteful interior, chic guests, but not too pretentious, and in the summer you can sit wonderfully in the inner courtyard!
