Paolo Sandulli is the colourful dog when it comes to art and ceramics on the Amalfi coast. The locals love him and his art. Whether in hotels, restaurants or boutiques, you will always encounter the poetic works of art of the Italian artist, especially his sculptures. A unique experience, however, is to visit the artist in his studio, high up in the coastguard tower Torre a Mare in Praiano. Once you have climbed the spiral staircase, you immediately notice Paolo’s famous ceramic figures with their high towered hairstyles made of colour-intensive sea sponges – an absolute eye-catcher that is also popular in the international art scene. Either way, all of Paolo’s works of art contain a good portion of charm, eroticism and wit.
