The building – known also from the film “La notte” from Michelangelo Antonioni – opened in April 1960 is 127 metres high, 60 metres wide, but only 18.5 metres deep and has 32 stories. In 2002 a light aircraft crashed straight into the 26th floor of the architectural masterpiece from Gio Ponti and hit “the European answer to American towers”.
