Prestonfield House is situated in the middle of an 8 hectare park landscape including galloways, peacocks, venerable oaks and many a charm. Once you have passed the driveway and the big door, you will end up in a real fantasy world: flickering candles, heavy velvet curtains and sofas, antiques about antiques and the walls are decorated with oil paintings from the 17th to 19th century. One might think that an antique lover lived out his life here – quite right, owner James Thompson is a manic collector and has collected all his treasures at Prestonfield. Anyone who loves opulence will feel at home here and love the burgundy fireplace room, the champagne in the suite and the waitresses in the tartan skirt!
