The Residenzgallerie is located on the third floor or the former seat of the prince archbishop of Salzburg. Its grandiose rooms display an equally splendid collection of European masters from the 16th to the 19th centuries including Rembrandt, Peter Paul Rubens, and the Austrian court painters Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller and Friedrich Ritter von Amerling. The gallery also organizes many special exhibitions.
