After a 10-year renovation, the national museum of the Netherlands has finally opened its doors again in 2013. The impressive building is located in the Oud-Zuid District, and within its huge collection of masterpieces, such as Johannes Vermeer and Frans Hals, the Rijksmuseum also has sculptures and Asian art. A visit is definitely worthwhile for everyone who wishes to marvel at the history of the Netherlands, from the Middle Ages up until today.
