If they end up here, there’s a consolation. The coastal town of Cala Ratjada is a tourist attraction because of its beautiful bays and is still spared the worst developments on the island. The excursion is worthwhile because here is the Restaurante Ca’n Maya, a fish restaurant that couldn’t be more authentic. It is located directly at the harbour and presents itself old-fashioned as from another time – an oasis amidst cheap souvenir shops. In this bright restaurant with honest cuisine, the locals occasionally come by to have a beer or a glass of wine in the bar. Mother and daughter have run the shop for many years, where they eat fish, we recommend the “parrillada de pescado” for 40 euros, which is perfect to share with two…. Near the port and eat fish, what could be nicer in the holidays?
