Riva Lofts

At the Riva Lofts architect Claudio Nardi, and his daughter Alice, have made something very special. There are eight lofts, some with their own terrace and others with access to the garden, each with their own entrance and all with modern architecture, yet drenched in the beauty of nature. Mies van der Rohe himself could have designed the starkly geometric pool ringed by rococo-inspired iron furniture. Everything here comes to life in a joyful play of contrasts. In rooms done in the latest style hang wood-framed mirrors, which like the floral dish-ware, reflect a beauty given by age. The location of the Riva Lofts is just as wonderful as the interiors: directly on the Arno across from the Parco delle Cascine. From this elegant idyll it is just 30 minutes by foot to the Ponte Vecchio.
