Miami has become the hot spot of the art scene. However, its major impulses do not come from renowned museums, but from private collectors who demonstrate how to collect art “Miami Style”! In a former US-customs-warehouse in the district of Wynwood, Ex-New Yorkers Don and Mera Rubell show their art collection on 4000 square meters. The couple’s private residence takes up a tenth of the same building. With roughly 6000 works by icons such as Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Maurizio Cattelan or aspiring artists such as Eberhard Havekost or Christoph Ruckhäberle, the Rubell Family Collection is considered one of the most important collections of contemporary art in the USA. Oh, don’t forget that besides the showrooms there is, of course, also a sculpture garden.
