Saint-Jean serves outstanding vegan baked goods! The café duo in the heart of the Jordaan district is located directly opposite each other – the bakery on one side of the street and the deli on the other. There is almost always a long queue in front of the bakery, with a young, hip crowd waiting patiently to be let in. That’s how good the freshly baked, purely plant-based delicacies are. Genuine craftsmanship, lovingly prepared down to the last detail. Through the open bakery, you can watch the artistic creations take shape. Across the street, the deli offers something a little more savoury: vegan sandwiches, savoury snacks and, of course, the much sought-after pistachio cream. Both shops offer excellent coffee, very special, partly homemade products to buy and a modern, minimalist interior – minimalist but inviting. And best of all, everything is 100% vegan.
