The San Miniato al Monte is definitely the most beautiful church in Florence. Those who go up the generous flight of stairs above the Piazzale Michelangelo will not get out of amazement so quickly. Already from the outside, the white and green marble incrustation of the facade impresses. Once you have entered, the harmony of the three-nave basilica and its furnishings are overwhelming – the original marble floor and also the beautiful ceramic sheds visible from the choir above the vaulting of the Michelozzo tabernacle are a true miracle. In addition to the impressive crypt, it is worth visiting the wonderful frescoes depicting the life of Saint Benedict of Spinello Aretino. The numerous steps are well worth it!
