This famous church on the other side of the river is the temple of Italian Renaissance painting. The right arm of the transept holds the Brancacci chapel built in 1386, which and owes its fame to the frescoes cycle on its three walls by Masolino, Masaccio and Filippo Lippi. They are each responsible for being in charge of the painting at different stages of its creation.
