The path to the hermitage and old plague chapel of San Valentino is a little shorter and also splendid. It lies 800 metres above Lake Garda in a dizzying overhanging rock face. It was probably built in 1630 to escape the plague, to defy it or to thank for having overcome it. Since then it has been inhabited by hermits from time to time. An incredible place and a heavenly view of the lake.
