The Skroten is the address for all those who long for “out of town” but don’t want to leave the city entirely. The former fisherman’s cottage at the edge of Djurgården, hidden between shipyards, is like a little jewel. Fishing nets hang from the ceiling, the food is served on maritime ceramics and only locals sit at the tables, as here, a tourist rarely snows past. Accordingly, the menu is only available in Swedish, but don’t worry, the nice waiters are happy to help and speak perfect English, as everywhere in Stockholm. When ordering, we can also recommend something to you – don’t forget to try the shrimp sandwich. And if you’re in the mood for coffee and cake, you can live out the Swedish Fika tradition here!
