Jessica Koslow started off with a marmalade kitchen in East Hollywood to cook her delicious jams using fruits from the farmers’ market. She created new combinations like wild blueberry and tarragon or mulberry and basil. In late 2012, she decided only toast & coffee were missing and added a corner cafe with community table to her kitchen. Her dishes are just like her jams: made with a lot of love, intuition and attention to detail. People from the neighborhood are queuing on the sidewalk to get the next free table and order brioche toast – the sweet version with ricotta and jam and the savory one with kale tomato mash, hot sauce and egg – or a rice bowl with sorrel pesto, black radish, feta cheese and poached egg, accompanied by coffee from the best Californian roasters.
