The Mosques perfect proportions are best viewed from a distance, and it could be regarded as the Ottoman answer to the Hagia Sophia, so to speak. It is certainly worth looking inside this Mosque, built by the famous Ottoman architect Sinan in 1557. The Mosques amazing size is especially impressive; the praying dome itself measures 53 meters. The lamps, contours and wall rosettes of Islamic decorations are more than beautiful. The light shining through the colourful glass windows, gives the Mosque a very special atmosphere.
