Carles Avellan, the mastermind behind this genuis concept, made a name for himself in the Commerce24 in the district of El Born, and became know city-wide for his more unique tapas creations. In the Tapas 24 located in Eixample, a counterpart to Commerce24, he surprises with a more classical assortment. Here, instead of ornate dalliances, the superb quality of the ingredients stands at forefront. Everything from the décor down to the patrons is local. Only now and again a breeze from Italy and Peru makes itself noticable on the menu, as is exemplified with such items as ceviche or carpaccio. During the summer one can grab a beautiful seat at a small table outside along the street.
