The Temple Bar Food Market is a true gem among the weekly markets, even though like the rest of the area it appears rather touristy at first glance. A closer look, however, reveals a shining example of what a market can offer. The best producers from all over Ireland fill the stalls in the small square. For example the best oysters in the country are available at the Temple Bar Food Market at the unassuming Temple Oyster Bar stall. Don’t miss out on this opportunity! Oyster lovers simply must take a seat at the bar and try an Oyster Platter for 12 Euros, or at least a Single Shooter for 2 Euros. These oysters are truly exceptional. And if you’ve treated yourself to a fresh-pressed fruit and vegetable juice complete with wheatgrass shot, you’ll have more than enough energy for a dip into the Dublin nightlife. Also highly recommended is the excellent cheese selection at Corleggy Cheeses. In fact every stand at this market is a true jewel. The souvenir highlight is undoubtedly the small bags at the raw-food stand, for example the one with crispy dried kale, which we can assure tastes better than it might sound. You can try what you like and take it home by the bag, which is a good idea since this kind of thing is not easy to come by!
