A place that is more than just a restaurant: The Odeon has been the living room of downtown creatives since the 1980s – from Basquiat to SNL stars. Then as now, artists, writers and fashionistas gather at the long art deco bar or in the red leather banquettes under dim lights. The classics on the menu – steak frites, frisée salad with lardons – taste just as good as the feeling of being part of New York’s history. If you want to understand downtown, you have to have been to the Odeon at least once. And preferably a second time. The Odeon is simply an absolute classic!
