It is as if you were suddenly dropped into The Great Gatsby. The villa and its seemingly endless gardens were built in 1916 as the winter residence for the industrialist James Deering. Due to his preference for European art and antiquities from the 16th-19th centuries, there is a rather enormous collection of such works here.
