Westerns Laundry, sister restaurant to the popular Primeur, is a small plates restaurant in Highbury housed in a converted garage. The focus is on seafood and natural wines. The Spanish-inspired menu changes daily, depending on what’s in season. So one day you might get langoustines with a blob of Marie Rose sauce and the next day a crudo of sea bass with fine olive oil. But despite the changing menu, you’ll always find croquetas, oysters and a rum baba for dessert. The food is consistently good, and although it sounds sophisticated for a neighbourhood restaurant, it feels surprisingly casual, especially considering you’re eating in a “redecorated” car park.
