The Ziegelhütte is a beautiful travel destination. Stefan Tamò has brought new life to an old location and if anyone knows what a modern city-dweller wants to eat in a visit to the countryside, it’s him without a doubt. The ‘Hütte’ is nestled in a verdant landscape with a spectacular view. It operates as a pub-hotel with a home-style Swiss kitchen, featuring ‘Wurscht Chässalat’ (salad with sausage and cheese), Emmentaler meringue with whipped cream and in the evenings cheese or meat fondue, known in Switzerland as ‘Chinoise’. On Sundays everyone comes together for the “Ziegelhütte Zmorge”, a Swiss brunch with warm Bauernschinken (farmer’s ham), Zwiebelrösti (onion-potato rösti) and Heublumenspeck (hayflower-bacon).
