The restaurant Zum Fischmeister at Lake Starnberg is a classic. Here the typical Munich chicmicki scene comes together with the locals from the village, who both appreciate the unspoilt ambience, which just gets along without bells and whistles. There is probably nothing better than sitting here in the garden, on the white benches under the gnarled, tall trees with a direct view of the water and the steamer jetty where the ships dock in Ambach. But even the wood-panelled parlours with the plain maple tables could not better represent the old Bavarian inn atmosphere. By the way, it is best to order a roast pork for dinner here. In short – this place is a Bavarian perfection!
