Das Tasca Jota liegt etwas abseits der touristischen Pfade von Lagos, versteckt in einer Wohngegend der Stadt und wirkt auf den ersten Blick fast unscheinbar. Doch die moderne portugiesische Küche, das ausgzeichnete Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und der sympathische Service macht das Tasca Jota zu einem absoluten Liebling der Locals. Die unaufgeregte und recht schlicht eingerichtete Taverne bietet neben hervorragenden Fischgerichten wie Codfish in Orangen-Koriander Marinade, frisch gegrillte Dorade, Ceviche oder in Ingwer sautierte Garnelen auch allerlei Petiscos (Tapas). Dazu gibt es herrlichen lokalen Wein und zum Nachtisch ein Traum von weißem Schokoladenmousse. Und an den Tischen sitzen natürlich fast ausschließlich Einheimische.
