The Albergo California couldn’t be better located; situated in the heart of Positano, the hotel sits across from the luxurious Hotel Le Sirenuse and offers a view of the Amalfi Coast’s most photogenic town that’s just as stunning—yet at a far more reasonable price than its neighbor. The B&B has very little to do with California; on the contrary, you are welcomed by a magnificent 18th-century palazzo. The rooms in the older part of the building are particularly beautiful, with green-tiled floors and original ceiling friezes—our favorite room is No. 54. Equally lovely is the terrace, where you can start the day wonderfully and enjoy the tranquility of Positano for a moment over breakfast before the day-trippers start arriving.
