The Bar da Alberto is an institution on Capri. It was founded in 1946 by Alberto, who was then pastry chef on the legendary Italian Transatlantic Rex, which was awarded the Blue Ribbon in 1933 for setting the record on the Gibilterra – New York route. In the meantime, the pastry shop is run by the second generation of the family. There is probably no one on Capri who has not bought a tray of pastries from Bar Alberto. It is a classic Sunday tradition to buy a few sweet delicacies here. What’s particularly charming – during the summer months, Bar Alberto is open 24 hours a day to treat guests to a little goodnight treat after going out and dancing in the surrounding bars.
