The Buech is a real jewel above Lake Zurich and accordingly also hidden. From the lake, you drive a good distance up the hill, pass the village and when you have passed the first narrow bend, you can already discover the Buech. The nice thing is that the Buech has retained the charm of a real country pub: creaking strap floors, venerably aged panelling and wooden tables await you in the old Zurich winegrowers’ house, making the restaurant on Herrliberg quaint and elegant at the same time. The menu offers classics such as tartar, Flädli soup, cordon bleu of veal as well as gourmet specialities such as sautéed scallops on black salsify. The view from the garden terrace over Lake Zurich and the Hirzel is also unique. Here you can sit under secluded vines and old trees and enjoy life.
