The Caffè Natalizi is still wonderfully old-fashioned and unchanged, as if from another time. It is famous not only for its coffee, but for the bignets, the filled choux pastry balls, and for the Mont Blancs, a pastry made of a chestnut cream, meringue and cream. The bignets are particularly good filled with zabaione, an egg cream enriched with marasala, simply delicious and also available in a bonsai shape, which makes the sins seem smaller. The pink icing is a little irritating.
