Sometimes the smallest are the greatest, as is the case with Can Joan Frau. At this narrow, inconspicuous stant in the Mercat de Santa Catalina you’ll find Palma’s best paella! Place your order around 11 AM or 12, because at 11 the paella starts to cook and any other way you won’t get a portion. Saturdays and Thursdays it’s Paella con sepia (paella with squid) and utterly divine gourmet treat, that couldn’t be more addictive. Amazingly thick, perfectly spiced, and wonderfully fresh. For dessert try the Coca de manzana apple pie or the apricot variation, Albaricoque.
