The Casa Mele has no view to offer, as most of the other restaurants at the Amalfi coast, but nevertheless the restaurant is very popular. The reason for this is the smart and innovative cuisine as well as the excellent service. Instead of looking out to sea, guests look into the open kitchen, where three tasting menus are prepared by a young kitchen crew. From the small greeting from the kitchen to the dessert, all seven courses are full of creative culinary art, like the Triglia (mullet) caramelised with oranges, served with pesto and almond cream. The cuisine is Italian, but anything but the usual Trattoria style. Casa Mele is all about unusual and creative gastronomy. One can easily do without the spectacular view for one evening.
