Chez Bob de Tunis is a true original in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. The tiny, unassuming shop has been a highlight for lovers of Tunisian snacks and dishes for decades. If you stop in here, you will experience a little trip to North Africa: surrounded by old photos and stacked tins, the eponymous owner Bob prepares his legendary Tunis sandwich – a French baguette lavishly filled with tuna, potatoes, tomato and cucumber salad, olives, capers and, on request, a touch of harissa. Even more authentic? The fricassé: tuna and egg in a deep-fried brioche roll. For full enjoyment, we recommend a can of Tunisian lemonade and a portion of sweet halva to finish.
