Chez Casimir is not necessarily located in the most popular area around Gare du Nord, but once you left behind the hectic Rue Magenta, you will encounter a culinary oasis on the small Thierry Bretons church square, which is a real insider’s tip. In summer, chef Jean Pierre Vasseur offers many seasonal dishes you can enjoy sitting outside at small wooden tables with green-and-white checkered tablecloths in the shadow of a marquee. In winter, regulars from the neighborhood come here for delicious French classics like Tatare de boeuf, Confit de canard or Clafouti Cerise presented beautifully on wooden plates and slates. You can chose from individual dishes listed on a blackboard and 3-course menus between 20 and 30 Euros. Dishes are always accompanied by tasty round loafs that are freshly baked at 4 o’clock every morning. Eating here makes you feel like being on a trip to the French countryside when really you haven’t left the 10th arrondissement.
