The Chiostro del Bramante is a little hidden near Piazza Navona. The cloister of the Bramante was designed by Donato Bramante (1444 – 1515), a superstar of the Italian Renaissance. Eventually, he was also appointed the first master builder (of many) of St. Peter’s Basilica. Chiostro del Bramante is part of the complex of the adjacent church of Santa Maria della Pace, where Raphael’s famous fresco of the Sibyl can be seen. A visit is definitely worthwhile, of course because of the impressive architecture and art. But a subsequent break in the associated café is also a reason to stop by. The terrace above the elegant inner courtyard is a wonderful place to drink coffee or have an aperitif. Before or after that, book lovers should definitely browse in the associated bookshop.
