Back in 1977, Cul du Sac was a trailblazer. Not far from Piazza Navona, this narrow enoteca pioneered the next generation of wine bars around the world. Today she’s the great grandmother; a friendly classic serving authentic Romen cuisine. Trippa (beef tripe), oxtail and involtini (Romen roulades) compliment well the 1,500 wines on the shelves above guests’ heads just waiting to be uncorked. The clientele and charming service reflect the bars many years of success. At midday, business people who trade in pleasure, intellectuals from the neighborhood and a few travelers gather together on the terrace to catch some sun. The Cul de Sac is a good evening choice if your lunch was generous enough that a few good glasses of wine along with a nice, well matched selection of cheeses and pâtés will suffice. The påtés are all homemade and are favorites of the guests.
