At Café da Rosa, grandmother Rosa’s recipes from 1974 are brought back to life thanks to her grandson Pedro and his wife Lubélia. Whether it’s the heavenly sweet potato cake with cinnamon and sugar, the city-famous classic D. Rodrigo, behind which is a sweet speciality made from egg strings, or the Algarve cake with figs, almonds and chocolate. By the way, you should definitely order a freshly squeezed gooseberry juice with it. But that’s not all, there’s also sugar for the eyes: the interior. We only say wrought-iron chairs, Seventies glass lamps and beautiful blue and white tiled pictures.
