Those who go to the Buzihütte enter another world, the rustic Tyrolean universe, which does not care about design, fashion trends or hipness. Since 1902 the Buzihütte in the mountains above Innsbruck has been open to the public. The hut itself is made of dark wood, the interior is also made of dark wood, with gnarled tables and benches and patchwork carpets on the walls. The menu matches the impression, rather on the traditional Tyrolean side with roast pork, Käasspätzle, dumplings (Kaspress or spinach), various soups (Kaspresssuppe) and the speciality of the house, the boil of pus. This name may seem a bit strange, but behind it is the in-house interpretation of the Cordon Bleu, which is very reminiscent of the 80s and also tastes like that. There are seasonal fondues and the famous Ripperlessen. Of course, you can also order a simple snack plate or just lard bread from the extremely friendly staff. For dessert there is one of the best Kaiserschmarren of Tyrol or, a little lighter, baked apple rings with vanilla sauce. The portions are generous and at fair prices. In summer the terrace is a must to enjoy the view of Innsbruck. You’ll be satisfied, even if it’s a little too well filled.
