Giardini 36 is one of the newer restaurants where, for a change, orecchiette and focaccia do not set the tone. Davide and Katia have a menu with a few seasonal dishes, but it even offers vegan options. Using regional organic ingredients, most of which are grown on their own farm, they serve classic dishes such as ‘purea di fave con cicoria’ alongside their own creations, which are a wonderful option if you don’t want to leave the table feeling completely stuffed, but would rather eat more consciously with good wine without falling into gourmet frills. So if you can’t stand white flour anymore, this is the place for you, because it offers one of the few wholemeal breads that Apulia has to offer. And the atmosphere? It’s like visiting good friends – culinary life is celebrated at the long wooden tables. However, it’s a little confusing that you don’t actually sit in the garden, as the name suggests, but indoors. A real highlight in the area, which we would like to support.
