In Gymkhana you feel like in the good old colony. Somehow like a distinguished sports club, somehow like a luxurious diner and somehow quite simply cozy. The restaurant is inspired by the Indian Gymkhana clubs from the colonial era. The North Indian cuisine-style dishes served here catapults Indian food into another stratosphere – and in London, with thousands of Indian restaurants, that’s probably saying a lot. The taste experience is indeed difficult to describe, it’s an explosion of flavor. But try it for yourself! By the way, it’s best to ask for a seat on the lower floor, which is decorated with Indian artwork and bold red hues. Small tip: The pre-theater menu is probably the best deal in town.
