Walk down the stairs to get to this dim bar, in which it is so dark that it is a little difficult to read the menu. But you don’t really have to anyway. Every drink in this hot spot is an experience: innovative, delicious and with lots of love for excellent ingredients. Legendary is the French Pearl with gin, mint, lime, and a whiff of absinth. You can sip that one in the intimate corners, which are funky deluxe and change between modern design and 2nd hand chique. The service is brilliant, before you can look around to call a waiter there’s already a glass of water with cucumber in front of you. When you’re hungry you can order something from the Thai restaurant above the bar, which has inexpensive and tasty curries and exotic salads. This is mostly a place when you come to drink though, secluded from the Hoxton hipster turmoil.
