Hotel Regina is a cool addition to the Bad Gastein hotel scene. Hamburger Olaf Krohne fulfilled a childhood dream when he opened Hotel Regina against the glamourous backdrop of the Alps. The hotel is fresher and more unique than its neighbours, a mix of golden Venetian and Italian shabby-chic. Krohne gutted the original building, which dated back to the turn of the century. Walls were removed and original wooden floors were exposed and varnished to seal in the marks of time. After dinner DJs play while guests relax on large plush cushions. Not to miss: At 2161 metres the view is spectacular in the snow, like a retro space ship
