Although the rooms at the Hyatt on the Embarcadero are relatively boring, no frills business oriented – but the lobby, now that’s something else. In 1973 by the daring hotel Architect John C. Portman designed the spectacular atrium, housing the spherical sculpture “Eclipse” and its watery reflection and whose glass elevators silently carry passengers up its 17 stories. Put your feet up in the lobby or take one of the elevators up to take in gravity-defying architecture from on high.
